Job Responsibilities

Do you want to help create safety, joy, and movement for people of all ages? Do you have a background in pool lifeguarding or similar training and a passionate commitment to health, service, and interaction with people? Then this temporary position at Kärra swimming and sports hall might be the job for you!

We are now looking for two substitute lifeguards who want to be part of a competent and dedicated team.

As a lifeguard, you will have a varied and significant job where you are a key person in the guests' experience. You will be responsible for pool supervision, ensuring that the facility is clean, safe, and pleasant, and providing our guests with professional and good service. You will lead water aerobics classes. The position may also include working at our reception or similar tasks. A computer is used as an important tool.

Kärra swimming and sports hall features a 25-meter pool with six lanes, a teaching pool, a reception, a gym, and a sports hall. The facility is a place where we work together to inspire physical activity, strengthen public health, and create meaningful experiences for all visitors. One of our main goals is to increase swimming proficiency and improve public health for the people of Gothenburg.

The unit consists of a unit manager who leads and drives the operations together with a team leader and about ten employees. Together, you will meet people of all ages and from many parts of the world. Here you will be able to use your sensitivity, service mindset, and ability to build trust. You will work in a dedicated team where we strive towards the same goal: to provide each guest with a truly great experience. Working hours are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has completed high school education and is trained as a pool lifeguard or has other training in swimming, wellness, and health that is considered equivalent. You have experience working in swimming pools and with service, as well as good computer skills and can navigate various IT systems. You need to have a good command of Swedish, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have experience working with children and youth. Furthermore, it is beneficial if you have experience in cleaning and working at a reception. If you have training or experience in leading water aerobics, that is also a plus.

You have a good attitude and a genuine interest in other people, where you find solutions and want to help provide good service. You have good teamwork skills, working well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. At the same time, you have the ability to make your own decisions within the framework of your assignment and take initiatives without relying on others. Furthermore, you are confident and can balance different demands while remaining calm in difficult situations.
